What are the signs and symptoms of myocardial infarction that can be observed?

Patients who have a heart attack are usually sudden without any previous signs. However, in some cases, patients may experience early symptoms before the onset of an attack, such as:

  • Weak
  • Chest discomfort
  • Nervous
  • Shortness of breath
  • Nauseous
  • Dizzy

 

At the time of a heart attack, pain in the chest is very typical with the following characteristics:

  • Severe chest pain that doesn’t go away for 30-60 minutes
  • The location of the pain is felt behind the breastbone and often radiates to the neck, shoulder, jaw, and left arm.
  • Chest sensations such as pressure, pain, heat or burning, and prickling
  • In some patients, complaints of heartburn can occur, such as bloating and a lot of gas in the stomach.

 

The general condition of the patient at the time of the attack, and vital signs can be found as follows:

  • The pulse rate increases with an irregular rhythm
  • Blood pressure rises
  • Increased respiratory rate
  • Coughing, and wheezing is heard, and there is sputum production
